Disney Wish Sets Sail on Maiden Voyage

Disney Wish has officially entered service with its maiden voyage sailing from Port Canaveral on July 14. A month of inaugural celebrations finally saw the new Disney Cruise Line vessel receiving its first paying guests.

On its maiden voyage Wish will depart on a five-night cruise to Bahamas.

Calling at Nassau, the Wish will also pay a visit Castaway Cay, Disney’s own private island.

During it’s first season at sea Wish will also offer additional short cruises departing from Port Canaveral.

Taking the place of the Disney Dream, which is now sailing from Miami, the 2,550-guest vessel will sail a year-round program of three- and four-night cruises to both Nassau and Castaway Cay.

Disney Wish is the first cruise ship built for Disney in ten years and arrived in North America on June 20.
